GARY LAM’S FIRST HOLLAND SEMINAR
« on: February 11, 2007, 11:32:26 AM »
5 & 6 May 2007: GARY LAM’S FIRST HOLLAND SEMINAR

Sifu Gary lam has excepted my invitation to give a two-day seminar in the Netherlands. After an inspiring seminar
of him last September in the UK (see photograph album), now also the Dutchmen have a chance to meet him.
Sifu Lam is an extremely skilful fighter and coach and it is an unique occasion of receiving training of one of the
head trainers from the WSL lineage. He is also accompanied by one of his top students, Ernie Barrios. Sifu Lam
is as Ernie calls it "a real power house". The topics: `fighting strategy’, structure, Chi Sau, po Pai and spar-exercises
will make his vision on Ving Tsun clear in no time. There will ‘hands on training’ and sufficient time to ask questions
directly. His enthusiasm is contagiously and motivating, but he gets really started through the response of the
participants by asking questions and `doing’.

Sifu Gary Lam (Lam Man Hog) has been teaching thousands of students for over 20 years. He started his training in
1967 with the world renown Wong Shun Leung and trained with him exclusively for 15 years. He was Sigung Wong's
head coach in Hong Kong for 6 years. He also assisted Wong Shun Leung on the instruction DVD ‘the Science of
in-fighting’. Sifu Lam is one of the worlds leading experts in Wing Chun Kung Fu and like his teacher honed his skills
in tournament fighting and personal self-defence experiences. He teaches Wing Chun Kung Fu and Muay Thai Boxing
at his training institute in Monterey Park, California. More information about Sifu Gary Lam on his website:

The number of participants is limited and the seminar is meant for persons with some Ving Tsun experience.
People from other Ving Tsun lineages are also welcome to join the seminar.
Participate costs 140 euro.

Hey Ernie,

Thanks for the offer. Most of my guys like to 'do' more than 'write' I guess. I'm hoping there will be many questions asked when  Gary is around, that would interest me. Good interactions, training and discussions is what I'm hoping for. And raising a glass with you of course!

It was a great pleasure to meet Gary in person, the accessability and the fact that he is so down to earth realy struck me ! Ofcourse getting my ass kicked big time is something I will remember for a long time....my head still hurts :o

Ernie my main man, you spiced up the seminar with your pressence and besides kicking butt you also know how to win the harts of the people you interact with....a great inspiration.

As for G. Thanks for making this thing happen, you put in a lot of time and effort in getting a couple of "crazy people" accross the pont and helping people like me to touch other dimensions.

With warm regards,

Shaam
This won't hurt.....I promise.......

......although I was not able to follow the second day of the seminar I want to say (like Shaam already did in the right way) the following words;

This seminar was very interesting, inspiring and cool. It was a great pleasure and a big honour for me to meet sifu Gary Lam and Ernie Barrios in person and learn a couple of amazing techniques from them. The whole filosophy behind it (the five elements theory) was a real eye-opener for me!!!
Hopefully you will come back to Holland again!

Thanks also to Gert-Jan...which is always in controll by organizing these kind of big events at a very professional way!  ;)

greetings from Peter Faling

the thing I loved about you and [ most of the G-man's guys ] was the no bull **** mindset ,, you challenge everything and that my friend is a wonderful trait .
I liked the way you put me on the spot , makes me a better coach and VT man , I thank you for you questions critique and most of all new found friendship .

Barnoud,
Thanks for keeping me eating ha-ha I was half dead and you looked out for me , as with all of Gerts guys ,,, you have a huge heart . we had some great laughs in Amsterdam ,,,, One day ,,, I will get that white haired Chinese leprechaun to ask for his pot of gold [ inside joke you had to be there ]

Look guys I think those that hung out with me know I'm not fake bull **** type of guy ,,,, I really felt like my family has grown ,,, and I thank you for letting myself and Sifu Lam in to spend time in your home .

we are all strong in our own ways but so much stronger together ,,, you guys taught me allot and Gert is just a blessing as a WSLVT trainer and more so as a friend
